Bernie Sanders surges to a 15 point lead over Biden, Bloomberg - New York Post

Sen. Bernie Sanders has a double-digit lead over the other Democratic presidential contenders, pulling ahead of former Vice President Joe Biden who came in second, according to a national poll released on Wednesday.

Sanders got 32 percent of support from Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents – an increase of 8 percentage points from the same survey taken last month, the ABC News/Washington Post poll found.

Biden’s support fell to 17 percent, an 11 percentage point drop from January.

Former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg, who will take part in his first Democratic presidential debate Wednesday evening in Las Vegas, gained 6 percentage points in the poll, coming in third with 14 percent.

Support for the remainder of the field barely budged from last month.

Former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg, despite strong finishes in the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries, gained just 2 percentage points to come in with 7 percent.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts came in at 11 percent and Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota gathered 6 percent.

Warren’s numbers remained unchanged while Klobuchar rose 3 percentage points.

The poll comes out just days before Nevada’s caucuses on Saturday.

South Carolina holds its primary on Feb. 29 and then 14-states go to the polls on Super Tuesday, March 3.

The poll surveyed 1,066 adults between Feb. 14-17 and has a plus/minus margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
