This Century's longest "blood moon" lunar eclipse on July 28 delighted skygazers, astronomers and photographers around the world.
As it rose, during this total eclipse, the moon turned a striking shade of red or ruddy brown that could be seen in many countries.
The "totality" period of the eclipse, where the light from the moon was completely covered, lasted one hour, 43 minutes, making it the longest in the century.
The spectacle was visible almost everywhere across the globe, from Russia to Sydney and Germany to Abu Dhabi, captivating millions of people with its stunning vibrant red glow and the scientific interest of astronomers who lined up telescopes along bays and hilltops to capture the lunar event lasting four hours in total.
In Europe, where the weather allowed, the moon could be seen turning red as it became fully eclipsed by Earth, gifting photographers an extraordinary opportunity.
