Michigan astronaut shares great picture of Mackinac Bridge from space station

A Michigan native aboard the International Space Station is sending the Mitten a little love, sharing a picture of how the state's iconic Mackinac Bridge looks from space.

"The Mackinac Bridge looks chilly and beautiful from our vantage point 250 miles away!" NASA astronaut and Lake Orion native Andrew J. "Drew" Feustel tweeted on Friday.

In late March, Feustel, NASA astronaut Ricky Arnold and cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, boarded a Russian Soyuz MS-08 spacecraft and launched for the space station.

Feustel will be on board for about five months, participating in hundreds of science projects and technology demonstrations.

He's been sharing lots of photos from inside the space station on his Twitter account.

His previous missions include the final trip to service the Hubble Space Telescope in 2009,  and a mission to deliver supplies to the space station in 2011.

Selected as an astronaut in 2000, Feustel said one of his biggest joys was seeing the Great Lakes from space during his first mission in 2009.
